The Jose Cuervo Artificial Reef is located in 20 feet of water at the southern end of the South Beach Underwater Park, approximately 150 yards east of the First Street lifeguard station. It was donate to Miami-Dade County's artificial reef program by Diageo, the world's largest liquor distributor, on behalf of the Jose Cuervo tequila brand during the Sinko De Mayo South Beach Splash!, a watersports festival organized by the Miami Beach Chamber of Commerce in May 2000.
